2010 SneakerBall Awards
Greater Washington Sports Hall of Champions
Each year the Greater Washington Sports Alliance inducts individuals into the Greater Washington Sports Hall of Champions. These individuals have made significant contributions to the region's sports community and have created opportunities in our region for "great moments to happen." Hall of Champions inductees are athletes, coaches, businessmen, and most importantly, leaders. These honorees remind us that in the game of life, attitude is as important as skill and commitment. Inductees to the Greater Washington Sports Hall of Champions are selected by the SneakerBall Host Committee and the Greater Washington Sports Alliance Board of Directors, which are comprised of regional business and sports leaders.
Criteria for selecting the honorees include:
- Outstanding achievement and sizable impact on the individual's sport;
- Extensive community service in Greater Washington; and
- Significant efforts to increase visibility for the region as a sports town.
